Rocket and Kaotiko: Stepping up online sales with social ads

The clothing brand Kaotiko achieves outstanding results in their online sales thanks to the help of Rocket Digital, and the implementation of a strategy based on 3 main actions: generating traffic, leveraging audiences and internationalistation. Through the implementation of these three steps in Black Friday season, the company saw a quick and considerable boost in their sales and revenue.

THE STORY: KAOTIKO, the original “made in BCN” streetwear brand

Kaotiko is a spanish fashion brand founded in 1999 in Barcelona. Under the slogan “Be Real, Be Kaotiko“, the brand aims to instill the genuine streetwear attitude in every garment they design and produce.

THE GOAL: Driving sales online

Due to Covid restrictions, Kaotiko has seen the closure of all its physical stores across Spain. To make up for the inevitable loss of revenue resulting from the closure of its shops, Kaotiko contacted Rocket Digital with the aim of massively boosting the brand’s online sales for one of its occasional fashion sales: Black Friday.

THE SOLUTION

Kaotiko worked together with Rocket Digital to design and run a campaign strategy characterized by three main actions

  • Action 1: Generation of consistent and high-quality traffic to the online store. The Rocket Digital team selected the core audiences and segmented them according to interests, user behaviour and demographic traits. Kaotiko sought to drive large, quality traffic to the website, creating engaging visuals with brand and product imagery. At the same time, the brand ran automated campaigns using catalogue for prospecting purposes, stimulating consideration and intention.

  • Action 2: Leveraging of the gathered traffic to boost purchases. Here, our team of experts ran a number of campaigns across all social media placements, leaving the choosing of the most profitable ones up to the algorithm. A combination of custom audiences, high-quality lookalikes and engaged users ensured a high Conversion Rate, therefore optimizing the ROAS. Furthermore, the Rocket Digital team showed link ads adapted for each placement, displaying the Black Friday promotions with clear calls to action; which substantially increased the CTR. In addition, Rocket Digital also ran automated campaigns according to the catalogue sales objective, using photo ads in carroussel formats.

  • Action 3: International exportation. This action aimed to replicate the aforementioned set up internationally, throughout 5 different countries. In this case, Rocket Digital exploited a cross-border targeting locating international lookalikes. 

In the overall process, Rocket Digital used campaign budget optimization. This ensured that ads were displayed in those placements with the highest possibility of generating results, while the budget was automatically optimised amongst the ad sets with the highest sales potential.

THE RESULTS: Sales in a flash

With its relatively short, smart campaign, Kaotiko made strides in driving low-cost, high-value sales during a critical promotional period. A the end of November 2020, the black friday campaign achieved the following results:

  • 170% increase in total spent YoY
  • 167% increase in CTR YoY
  • 105% increase in Revenue YoY
  • 77% Increase in number of Conversions

Conclusions

Segmenting audiences and locating personalized social ads in the channels most related to them is essential to generate impact and channel traffic, having a significant impact on the final sales of the business.
